Man critical after morning shooting in Frankford

A 29-year-old man is in critical condition after police say he was shot in the chest in Frankford Monday morning.

A 29-year-old man is in critical condition after police say he was shot in the chest in broad daylight in Frankford Monday morning.

The man was at Oxford Avenue and Bridge Street when someone opened fire on him at 11:20 a.m., wounding him once, according to police.

The victim was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center and listed in critical condition. Police did not say what led to the shooting, but said a car was being held for investigation a few blocks from the scene, at Granite Street and Summerdale Avenue.
