Man, 23, faces murder rap in May shooting homicide

A 23-year-old man was charged with murder yesterday for shooting another man to death during an argument in North Philadelphia earlier this year.

A 23-year-old man was charged with murder Wednesday for shooting another man to death during an argument in North Philadelphia earlier this year.

Police said Michael Miller, of 10th Street near Loudon in Logan, fatally shot 36-year-old Shaquan Brown inside a house on Cleveland Street near York May 15. Police were called to the house at 1:16 a.m. and found Brown in the living room suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He later died at Temple Univeristy Hospital.

Investigators believe the men were arguing when Miller pulled out a gun and fatally shot Brown, a police spokeswoman said Wednesday. Both have criminal records.

The homicide fugitive squad had a warrant for Miller in the shooting and tracked him down Tuesday on 17th Street near Dauphin, about a block and a half from where Brown was killed.

Miller is being held without bail.
