Police this morning identified two people slain Wednesday in unrelated homicides.
In Southwest Philadelphia, Lamont Smith, 21, of Edgewood Street near Grays Avenue, was shot multiple times in the head and face about 10:30 p.m. at 60th Street and Chester Avenue. He died just before 2 a.m. at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.
In North Philadelphia, Jahaira Torres, 22, of Rorer Street near Rockland in Feltonville, died after someone shot her in the head and chest on Mascher Street near Cambria, shortly after 10:30 p.m. She died just after midnight at Temple University Hospital.
