Cops seek beer bandit in burglary spree

One apparent God-fearing burglar took that to the next level when police say he broke into four local beer distributors and helped himself – and was caught on surveillance camera wearing a “Property of Jesus” T-shirt during a burglary of a Trevose beer distributor on Saturday.

The great Benjamin Franklin once said, "Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy."

What would Jesus do? Probably not rob beer distributors.

Police say the man broke into Trevose Beer shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday and made off with about $1,000 in cigarette cartons. He's also suspected at least two other similar burglaries: one of Krewstown Beverage in Philadelphia Aug. 2 and another of Suds in Bensalem on Aug. 5.

Anyone with information about the beer bandit's spree is asked to contact Lower Southampton Police Det. Eric Landamia at 215-357-1235 ext. 339 or Bensalem Police Det. Jack Gohl at 215-633-3645.
