Cops: Man climbs building in attempted burglary

This post has been updated

The suspect in an attempted burglary was able to shimmy up the side of the 22nd Street Café in broad daylight to cut the cords to a surveillance camera on July 16 around 2 p.m.

The real obstacle, according to police, was getting the door open after he plopped back down to the sidewalk on 22nd Street near Wharton. Cops said he tried unsuccessfully to pry the door open once the cords were cut  and ran off.

Police obtained footage of the foiled burglary, and are now looking to arrest the man.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man in his 20s who has dark hair. He was wearing a white shirt with horizontal stripes, blue jeans and sandals.

Tipsters are asked to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or the South Detective Division at 215-686-3013. Tipsters may also reach the department online.
