Police were investigating a gunpoint carjacking and $25,000 robbery in the Northeast's Mayfair section Monday night.

Cops said a 26-year-old employee who was picking up money from Metro PCS stores made his last stop at the store on Revere Street near St. Vincent at 6:15 p.m. When the man came out of the store and got into his car with the bag of cash collected, Chief Inspector Scott Small said, another man forced his way into the passenger side of the car at gunpoint and forced the man to drive a few blocks down St. Vincent Street to Battersby, where he stole the bag containing $25,000 cash.

The robber also stole the victim's phone and the car keys before taking off on foot, Small said.

He's described as Hispanic, in his 20s, with a medium complexion and wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white gloves. Cops were still looking for him late Monday night.
