Update: Three men found shot to death in Lawndale house

Even the heavy snow couldn't put a stop to violence in the city.

Even the heavy snow couldn’t put a stop to violence in the city.

Three men were found dead this afternoon in Lawndale -- the victims of what police say is an execution-style murder.

About 3:30 p.m., officers from the 2nd District responded to reports of a person screaming on Martins Mill Road near Oxford Avenue. Upon arriving, they found three men shot dead inside a home on the block, Chief inspector Scott Small said.

Two of the men were found bound, lying on the first floor, and the third was found lying in a bedroom on the home's second floor.

All three were pronounced dead at the scene within minutes of each other around 4 p.m.

Only one victim has been identified as a 25-year-old man, Small said. Police are withholding that man's identity pending family notification.

The house appeared to be ransacked, with closet doors torn off their hinges and other signs of disarray.

No motive is available at this time, and several witnesses are being interviewed by Homicide Unit detectives, Small said.

Police remained on the scene investigating the triple murder around 6 p.m. The slayings are the latest in a bout of violence in Northeast Philadelphia's 2nd Police District, which covers Oxford Circle, Crescentville, Lawndale and the surrounding neighborhoods. Late last month, a mother and her adult son were found executed in their Lawncrest home not far from the scene of this triple homicide.

Daily News reporter Vinny Vella is reporting from the scene of the triple homicide. See Vella’s tweets from the scene here.
