Motorola will give $45,000 to the Philadelphia Police Department today to fund a five-day, leadership-skills training program for supervisors.

The grant from Motorola Solutions Foundation will fund the Police Supervisory In-Service Training (POSIT) program, enabling 210 sergeants and corporals to attend the training session, which Penn State University professors developed and teach. Philadelphia Police Foundation leaders will present the Motorola check to Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey at a news conference this morning at police headquarters.

The POSIT training program is held four times a year at the Philadelphia Police Academy.
