$40K for killer in Society Hill robbery, slaying
Police on Monday announced a $40,000 reward for information leading to the killer of Michael Hagan, the 32-year-old man shot to death in Society Hill during what police said was a robbery a little more than a week ago.
The reward, made up of $20,000 offered by the city, $15,000 from Hagan’s family and friends and $5,000 from state police in New Jersey, his home state.
Police said Hagan was found suffering a fatal gunshot wound to his chest on 4th Street near Lombard around 3 a.m. July 1.
In June, a 24-year-old man was robbed and shot in the back less than half a block from where Hagan was killed, at 4th and Gaskill streets. That victim survived his injuries.
Investigators also asked businesses and residents who live in the area to come forward if they have surveillance video from that night. Tipsters should contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334, the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP (773847).
RIP, Michael. I hope they get the scumbag(s) that did this to you. F. Harry Stowe
The Gaskill shooting wasn't a robbery. It was initially an argument, and the homeboys couldn't be disrespected, so they kept it real and shot the kid while he rode away on his bike. mikestef100

There needs to be a camera on every block in this city. knicks84
This also occurred about a block from the shooting of Darren Rogers. I don't understand what's happening to Society Hill, but it's so sad. I truly hope justice is served and these scumbags meet a violent end. Rest in peace Michael. scoob

I hope they die before they're arrested. But if they make it to a jury and I'm on it: death penalty. The Usual Suspects
This trash will get caught. They will get life or a long sentence. Further injustice to the victim (who got the death penalty for no reason at all) and enslavement to the taxpayer who has to fund the trash in prison. What a joke the justice system has become in this country. Jack73
I assume Al Sharpton is outraged that an unarmed young man was murdered. He's probably as upset as he was after the horrendous murder of the young man near Independence Hall. Wait, he hasn't commented on them? ChescoMom- And I assume that YOU are outraged at the murders of unarmed, young, black men that plague the ghettos of this city. Oh, wait, you don't care about black life.

Comment removed.- Uh-huh. Now, let ME guess: And some who--oops, woman--in your family is giving said black, hoodie-wearing, bike-stealing teen a hummer. Wait, do you know where your mother is? See how much fun it is to make ignorant assumptions?

RIP. This is senseless and stupid. What are we as Philadelphians going to do about the crime in this city? I am a bleeding heart liberal until it comes to murder. Then, I say, bring back the gallows at Logan Square. I'll clink a glass of champagne at the Four Seasons while I watch whomever did this swing. I'm morbid, but I am serious. The police are not stopping crime in this city. And this poor kid was murdered right next to two churches... brotherlyshove
It is sad to hear about micheal and not to sound racist but where is the reward money for our young black men who are slain everyday in the city of philadelphia every life counts good bad or indifference and point blank the ciy needs to crack down on all killers no matter who the victim no matter the race walbla12
