$25G for tips leading to "Scream" masked bandits who held up armored car

A $25,000 reward is being offered for tips leading to the gunslinging bandits in "Scream" masks who knocked off an armored car in Holmesburg on Halloween and made off with $310,000 in cash, authorities announced Wednesday.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for tips leading to the gun-slinging bandits in "Scream" masks who knocked off an armored car in Holmesburg on Halloween and made off with $310,000 in cash, authorities announced Wednesday.

The reward, offered by Garda armored-car company, will be administered by the Citizens Crime Commission, said FBI spokeswoman Carrie Adamowski. She said the reward money is for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of the armed robbers and the recovery of the cash they stole.

In the robbery, a pair of men in "Scream" ghost masks and carrying Tec-9 handguns held up an armored-car guard outside the Wells Fargo branch on Frankford Avenue near Rhawn Street in Holmesburg Thursday morning. The bandits took the hefty sum of cash from the guard and hopped into a getaway van driven by a third masked man, officials said at the time. Police also said a fourth man may have been involved in the heist.

Tipsters should contact the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS (8477).
