Weldon Watch: Still waiting on that meeting with Gadhafi ...

Happier times

Former Delaware County Congressman Curt Weldon, joined by veteran newsman/newsmaker Larry Mendte, said he was supposed to meet with Moammar Gadhafi yesterday. Apparently that didn't happen, according to CNN:

Curt Weldon, the former U.S. congressman who intends to meet with Moammar Gadhafi and persuade him to step aside, told CNN on Thursday he hasn't yet but still hopes to sit down with Libya's defiant strongman.

If and when he does have the sitdown, Weldon said he plans "to reinforce the message of the Obama administration."

"It is time for us to resolve this conflict," said Weldon, a Republican who once represented a House district outside Philadelphia. Libya remains in a deadly stalemate as pro-Gadhafi forces battle rebel fighters demanding an end to Gadhafi's nearly 42-year-rule.

Where you at Gadhafi? Don't keep Curt and Larry waiting. They're wanted back in Washington to solve the budget crisis.

What a grandstander! I am sure Quaddafi cannot wait to see Curt; maybe he can hide in Weldon's shadow and sneak out of the country.
