A 36-year-old man who was shifting his own stick while driving on the Blue Route last week was probably a little blue himself after his pleasure cruise was interrupted by state police, according to a news release.

Around 5:44 p.m. Thursday, Ronald Smith was seen "using his hand to pleasure himself while operating his motor vehicle" on I-476 North in Nether Providence, police said.

And just who allegedly caught Smith with his hands in his nether regions? Two 13-year-old girls and the 40-year-old woman who was driving them, police said.

Smith was pulled over by state police and charged with indecent exposure and related offenses, police said.

On their news release, state police urged "anyone with information" to contact them at 484-840-1000.

Wow,you print his name.Like sportsnut said its gonna get tossed cause the cop had to see it unless a jury believes two 13 year olds and if they have to go to court..He could say he was just tucking in his pants or whatever.

The guy was tucking in his shirt for twenty minutes and having great difficulty making right turns. The little girls work Mummers' parties, so they are experts on what they saw. $2000 fine plus six months in Chester.

Too late, she must have already GASPED! But then again the writer of this article isn't Chris Christie, so she has nothing to worry about.

..and since when is masturbation in the privacy of your own car illegal? As long as he wasn't smoking with his other hand, I don't see the problem.

tr88: So funny! But if Monica was in the car, this arrest wouldn't have been necessary because she would have just used her head.

The headline and the first sentence are beyond tacky for a family newspaper. I knew immediately which reporter's name would be on it; apparently she specializes in low-brow... I can't dignify it by calling it "journalism". I expect better from Philly.com. Children read this, too!

Wow, is it really necessary to post this??? "A 36-year-old man who was shifting his own stick while driving on the Blue Route last week was probably a little blue himself after his pleasure cruise was interrupted by state police, according to a news release." Is this what journalism has come to, disgusting play on words, to sell papers???

Another great job of in-depth reporting. Pulitzer Prize winning journalism if ever there was any.
