More on Holiday's horrific shooting in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE – Were the Charlotte Bobcats responsible for Jrue Holiday's historically bad shooting performance? Or was it a case of Holiday being off.

Way off.

Holiday finished with just five points. His 2-for-24 shooting represented the fewest number of made field goals by a player attempting at least 24 shots in the last 25 years.

Despite Michael Jordan's team being the worst in the league this season (18-57), they have been pretty decent at home lately (their 88-83 win over the Sixers not only ended the Sixers' winning streak at three games; it was also their fifth victory in their last six games). And they were also smarting from giving up 131 points in their previous game, a loss to Milwaukee.

"We pressured up on him," Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap said. "We wanted to make sure he didn't beat us, especially at the end."

The Bobcats big men played up in the pick-and-roll against Holiday, making his windows tighter. And Kemba Walker defended him well, especially in the fourth quarter when Holiday went 1 for 12 from the floor.

But Dunlap didn't want to take all the credit.

"We got a little luck," Dunlap said. "He missed some chips and some bunnies that he usually makes."

Added Sixers Center Spencer Hawes: "He's the head of our snake. He's what propels us, not only scoring but making plays as well. So when he's having a tough night it has a ripple-effect."

Said Holiday: "I just think it's one of those nights. I do think that they played really good defense around the basket. But a lot of shots were in and out. I guess I just didn't get into a rhythm."
