"Best" and "Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Bulls

CHICAGO – Here's my look at some of the best and worst performances from the Chicago Bulls' 114-107 victory over the 76ers Saturday night at the United Center:

Best performance: This was an easy one even though Pau Gasol finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots. Derrick Rose gets this award for taking over the game in the clutch. With his team clinging to a 103-101lead, the point guard scored six of the Bulls' next seven points to give them a 110-105 cushion with one minute left.  Rose finished with 22 points, eight assists, six rebounds and three steals in 28 minutes, 29 seconds. This was his first home game since Feb. 23 due to a right knee surgery.

Worst performance: This has to go to Nikola Mirotic. The Bulls standout rookie was a nonfactor, finishing with five points on 2-for-6 shooting. He also had as many personal fouls (two) and rebounds (two) in 14:56 of action.

Best defensive performance: This award goes to Henry Sims. The Sixers reserve post player had two blocks and a steal while playing just 12:58. Sims also added six points and four rebounds.

Best performance in a losing effort: Robert Covington wins this award.  The native of Chicago's west side finished with a team highs of 22 points and five assists before leaving the game with cramp in his left ankle with 1:57 left.

Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Bulls' foul shooting. They made just 25 of 36 free throws (69.4 percent).

Best statistic: This award goes to the Tony Snell scoring all 11 of his points 4-for-5 shooting in the fourth quarter. He made 3 of 4 three-pointers during that stretch.

Worst of the Worst:  This goes to Covington suffering cramps late in the game. The Sixers were in the game beside the shooting guard starting hobbling up and down court. While they kept in close for a while 28.9 seconds left, their go-to guy was no longer on the floor.
