City Director of Sustainability Mark Alan Hughes is taking on an additional title – chief policy advisor to the mayor.
Hughes, who served as policy director for Nutter's mayoral primary campaign, said that his chief responsibility will be to coordinate the policy work of the four deputy mayors. Hughes said he will continue to work on the city's sustainability agenda.
"There's a lot of overlap between sustainability and policy in this administration," he said.
Nutter previously had a full-time staffer dedicated to policy. Wendell Pritchett left his gig as policy director in August to return to the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he is a professor.
Hughes will not receive any more financial compensation for taking on the additional responsibility.
