City Finance Director Rob Dubow tells us that Mayor Nutter will lay out his next financial plan for the city in his budget address on March 3.
That's several days before Gov. Corbett is expected to make his budget announcement, which is likely to include major cuts to schools and social services. Dubow said that the city hoped to have some information about Corbett's plans, but that Philly needs to start the lengthy budget process before then.
"Our hope is we'll have enough information. We want to get our budget done early enough so that we can go through a real process," Dubow said.
And will there be a public engagement process prior to March 3? Dubow said the city was still trying to figure that out.
