New Karen Brown ad on protecting 'core services'

Karen Brown, the Republican nominee for mayor, has a new campaign commercial. But YouTube may be the only place you can see it, since Brown doesn't appear to have the money to pay for local television air time.

Karen Brown, the Republican nominee for mayor, has a new campaign commercial. But YouTube may be the only place you can see it, since Brown doesn't appear to have the money to pay for local television air time.

Brown hits on familiar themes from her campaign, including a pledge to protect "core services" like the Police Department and Fire Department.  That leads to a brief, odd scene where someone wearing a firefighter's coat and helmet holds a little girl while holding a little boy's hand.  Both children have what looks like soot smeared on their faces.

Brown said the person in the commercial is a retired fireman. She declined to identify him, saying he didn't need any problems with his former employer.
