DiCicco Calls For Special Council DROP Session

Councilman Frank DiCicco today requested a special City Council session to address the DROP program.

Mayor Nutter yesterday said he would be calling on Council to pass legislation to abolish the Deferred Retirement Option Plan, after a new study showed the program had cost an estimated $258 million since 1999.

Council is currently on summer break, but DiCicco says in his letter to Council President Anna Verna that the issue is too important to wait on.

We've put a call in to Verna's spokesman to get her response and will update when we hear back.
