Council Chooses Primary Day To Post Contract For FInancial Advisor
City Council has chosen primary election day to post a contract opportunity for a financial advisor to Council President Anna Verna and the legislative body. Think they're trying to bury the news?
The contract is for between $100,000 and $150,000. Here are the details:
City Council seeks a consultant to advise the Council President and all other members of Council during Council's legislative session in connection with its budgetary and financial-related legislative and oversight responsibilities.
Verna's longtime aide Charles McPherson is expected to bid on the contract. McPherson retired April 9, 2009 after 37 years of service with a $528,434 DROP pension payment. He has been volunteering for Verna for the past year.
Under state law, McPherson could not bid on a Council contract until a year had passed since he left his job.
