City Controller Slams Agency For Misplaced Equipment

City Controller Alan Butkovitz released an audit today of the city's Commission on Human Relations that showed the agency could not locate 60 percent of the equipment listed on records from three and four years ago.  The equipment, valued at $513,000, included computers, printers and monitors.

The Commission, in a response included in the audit, said that much of the equipment may have been misplaced or improperly scrapped during a move of offices in August 2007.  The Commission added that it has already implemented the recommendations Butkovitz made in the audit for keeping better track of equipment.
