Woman rescued from collapse after 13 hours is doing well
Penn medical school dean says Myra Plekan is expected to be discharged soon and sent for further rehab.
The woman who was rescued from the rubble of the collapsed building in Philadelphia after 13 hours is doing well at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and is expected to be discharged soon, a Penn official said at a meeting of the board of trustees on Friday.
Myra Plekan, 61, is expected to be sent to a rehab for further improvement, said Larry Jameson, dean of Penn's medical school.
Jameson described how a team of 50 medical professionals "worked tirelessly" to help Plekan recover after her miraculous rescue from the disaster site.
"Her family came into see her. They were from out of the country," Jameson said.
