Who's graduating from Temple University on Friday?

Lots of Michaels and Jessicas.

"Michael" is the most common name among the 9,151 grads; there are 176 of them - nearly two percent of the class, according to a "fun facts" list put out by the university.

"Jessica" topped the list for female grads; there are 87 of them.

Most common names weren't the only quirky trivia offered by the Owls' p.r. department, which received a very important assist from institutional research.

Twenty-eight grads will be celebrating something else on Friday - their birthdays.

The oldest grad is a septuagenarian (71) and the youngest is 19.

And get this, there are 14 sets of twins, up from nine last year.

Some graduates could claim a special kinship with Temple's wise mascot.

Eleven graduates have "owl" in their name. Kristen Bowler, Elizabeth Cowley, Allen Dowling, Gregory Fowler, Jonah Fowler, Zachary Fowler, Kaitlin Nowlin, Courtney Rowland, Jake Rowland, Nora Rowland and Michael Rowlands.

On top of that, there's a Hooten. Kimberly Hooten.

As for the more ordinary stats: Grads come from 72 countries, 44 states (plus D.C., Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and 56 Pennsylvania counties. Nearly three quarters (6,836) are from Pennsylvania, 1,991 of those from Philadelphia.

Other fun facts include:

* Each graduate's commencement cap and gown is made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

* The Temple "T" chair design on the floor-a Commencement tradition-requires 1,420 chairs.

* During the ceremony procession, "Pomp and Circumstance" is played approximately 25 times.
