Bensalem police: Robbery suspects ID'd, remain at large

Bensalem Township Police say they've identified the two men accused of robbing a coin store while brandishing a knife and pipe earlier this week, but that both suspects remained on the loose Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the men as Daniel Leflar, 55, of Pottstown, and David Piergrossi, 52, of Royersford, and warned that both should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects may be traveling in a vehicle with a license plate ZDJ7692, police said, though they did not identify the car's potential make or model.

The two men are accused of entering the Coin and Collectable store on Street Road near the Bensalem Plaza Shopping Center around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, tying up two employees, and breaking glass display cases with a hammer to steal coins and other merchandise. The men also assaulted a customer who walked in during the robbery, police said. They used a knife and pipe to threaten the people inside the store, according to police.

It was not clear how valuable their haul was, but police say the men escaped and were last seen near the rear of the shopping center.

Leflar and Piergrossi each have long criminal records, with convictions dating back several decades for offenses including harassment, theft, or robbery.
