Intern for Congress

U.S. Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R, Bucks) is now accepting college internship applications.

Ever want to work for Congress? Now is your chance. As long as you're a college student.

U.S. Rep Mike Fitzpatrick (R, Bucks) announced today that he is accepting college internship applications. Specific job duties appear to be pending; the press release says that "Fitzpatrick and his staff work hard to respond to the needs of the citizens within our district, and any individual who interns will be called upon to do the same."

The internships are unpaid, according to spokesman Aaron Clark. There is the possibility for internships to count for credit if that is required by the applicant's school, he added.

Positions are available in Washington, D.C. and in Fitzpatrick's district office, in Langhorne. Additional details - including start/end dates, hours and preferred qualifications - are available by contacting the numbers below. There is no hard application deadline, Clark said.

For questions about Washington, D.C. opportunities, contact staff assistant Steve Sandora: stephen.sandora@house.mail.gov, or 202-225-4276. Langhorne questions should be directed to the district office, 215-579-8102.

Fitzpatrick - elected in 2010 and 2012 - is up for re-election in 2014. Several weeks ago, Kevin Strause, a Democrat, declared that he would challenge Fitzpatrick for the seat. Strouse, 33, served three tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. He spent the last eight years working for the CIA before moving to Bensalem to run for office.
