Doylestown homeless man dies of injuries after last week's stabbing

A homeless man who was stabbed and beaten outside the Doylestown train station last week has died from his injuries, officials said Monday.

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office will upgrade its case against the alleged attacker, Dale Wakefield, from attempted murder to murder, First Assistant DA Michelle Henry said.

Wakefield was charged with stabbing George Mohr in the head, chest, arms, hands, and back several times and beating him, causing multiple facial fractures and a brain injury, according to court records.

Wakefield had celebrated his 21st birthday before the attack, police said. He fled to Baltimore where he was arrested. Henry said he has already waived an extradition hearing to come back to Pennsylvania.
