POSTED: Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 2:44 PM

Police reportedly suspended their search for a 15-year-old boy in the Delaware River near Frenchtown, N.J., on Wednesday afternoon because of an approaching storm.

New Jersey State Police confirmed reports that a boy was missing in or around the river. He was described as African-American, wearing black trunks, a white T-shirt and flip-flops, according to the reports.

The boy was floating on a raft near Treasure Island when he disappeared under the water, according to the reports.

Boat teams and divers from Bucks and Hunterdon counties and a state police helicopter searched for hours before stopping for the weather, according to the reports.

The Hunterdon prosecutor's office also was involved in the search, a state police spokesman said.

The river in that area has some pretty nasty currents. I hope the kid made it out of the water OK.
