Thankfully, No Daylight Ahead for Flyers

The Flyers are 28-10-6 in games that start after 7 p.m. (Eastern) this season.

First off, we apologize for not getting this post up sooner. You see, we were having lunch as we watched the Flyers-Penguins Saturday, and it took quite some time to get these numbers — and our food — down.

But at least we come bearing a statistical antacid: The Flyers are 28-10-6 in games that start after 7 p.m. Eastern, and their next 12 games (and 20 of their last 24) fall into that time period.

And — we know you're not going to like this — the goaltending even holds up better after dusk. The new Russian goalie (our keyboard forbids us from typing his full name) has a winning record and a slightly better GAA in night games. But it is Sergei Bobrovsky (11-2-1, 2.69, .912 when he takes the ice in the evening) who seems to be the Orange and Black's Prince of Darkness.

Both goalies' day/night stats are below.

(BTW, there are reports that the Flyers fell to 4-10-1 in games that start before 7 p.m. Eastern this season, but we've gone through every official game sheet and we get 4-9-1. That list is below the goalie stats; if anyone finds a game we're missing, let us know.)
