Obama running for re-election

POSTED: Monday, April 4, 2011, 12:27 PM

Oh, the suspense! President Obama announced his 2012 reelection campaign Monday with a 6 a.m. email to supporters. Big Tent was worried he might be retiring to Chicago.

"Today, we are filing papers to launch our 2012 campaign," the "president" wrote in the email blast. "We're doing this now because the politics we believe in does not start with expensive TV ads or extravaganzas, but with you -- with people organizing block-by-block, talking to neighbors, co-workers, and friends. And that kind of campaign takes time to build. So even though I'm focused on the job you elected me to do, and the race may not reach full speed for a year or more, the work of laying the foundation for our campaign must start today. ... This will be my final campaign, at least as a candidate. But the cause of making a lasting difference for our families, our communities, and our country has never been about one person. And it will succeed only if we work together."

The launch also featured a video -- "It Begins With Us" - featuring interviews with Obama supporters from around the country talking about how they need to get fired up and not leave things to chance, to get the president reelected. The first one is with a white guy named "Ed" from small-town North Carolina, a state which may well be the must-win for Obama in 2012.

It was an obvious attempt to reference and rekindle the excitement of 2008, though it seemed flat - different times.

You people are crazy. You thought he cold fix everything one term and not your mad because he did not do what you thought. It takes time to fix the issues this country has. No one could fix it that fast.

To those who simply spew anger and hate (and I aim this equally to those doing to Bush or Obama)- at least provide thoughtful insight to back your anger and hate. Anyone with one finger can simply write: "utter disaster" and "train wreck." Prove to me you have a brain and use it for once. Have an independent thought. Don't just let Fox News and MSNBC tell you why you are angry and hateful.

He has not done one thing yet for Americans but get us into a third war, fine you for not having health care, have unemployment go over 101%, have gas @ $3.63 a gallon, and take a lot of vacations. Jimmy Carter looks like a genuis compared to this loser. I'm sure he'll be re-elected with that resume.
