President Obama's reelection continues to work methodically to exploit what it sees as the weaknesses in Mitt Romney's economic record.
This time, in a 60-second ad to begin running Monday in Pennsylvania and eight other swing states, the target is Romney's term as Massachusetts governor from 2003-2007. It features footage of candidate Romney in 2002 asserting that he knows how jobs are created - he's a businessman, for pete's sake - and then contrasts the promise with what happened in the state. The Bay State lagged most other U.S. states in job creation, manufacturing employment fell, and the state was left with $2.6 billion in debt.
"We've heard it before," a narrator says, showing footage of Romney on the trail this year promising he knows how to create jobs.
"Having abandoned 'Hope and Change,' the Obama campaign only hopes to change the subject," said Andrea Saul, the Romney campaign press secretary. "We're happy to compare the 4.7 percent unemployment rate Mitt Romney achieved in Massachusetts to President Obama's weak record any day."
In addition to Pennsylvania, the campaign said the ad is running in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia.
@worker1- Sorry but respect still has to be earned regardless of the gullible that voted the empty suit into the office in 2008.— Wiseman6- @worker1- Ok I get that the president is to govern and make decisions for everyone and not just myself. How do you feel then about the Wisconsin recall election? Seems to me that a certain portion of the population (read unions) didn't like the decisions he made and started the recall process. Scott Walker did nothing illegal and from most accounts he is benefitting Wisconsin taxpayers.
If that 'recall' isn't sour grapes for the Dems that didn't agree with a decision/position he took, I don't know what is...— Wiseman6 - How ironic that all the leftist "journalists" sign a petition to make sure the new owners don't mainipulate the news coverage and you do just that by ignoring the Wisconsin recall story.— jimmymack
