Beautiful You: 5 bedtime beauty tips

We all have a bedtime routine: brush teeth, wash face, and slip on the pink unicorn pajamas — or is that just me? It’s time for a change. You’ll wake up more relaxed and energized than ever.

We all have a bedtime routine: brush teeth, wash face, and slip on the pink unicorn pajamas — or is that just me? It's time for a change. You'll wake up more relaxed and energized than ever.

1. Look fabulous while you snooze.

Dare to wear your makeup to sleep — yes, you read that correctly! Dr. Jart+ has launched the first nighttime-formula beauty balm, BB Night BeautyBalm ($38, Sephora). It self-adjusts to your skin tone, then brightens and hydrates skin while you sleep.

2. Skip the morning hair routine.

Braid your hair before bed while hair is damp or wet. You'll wake up with gorgeous waves and lots of volume.

3. Get your beauty sleep.

Nothing beats a good night's sleep. For total relaxation, spritz Pillow Mist in Eucalyptus Spearmint ($12.50, Bath & Body Works) on your bedding, and let the aromas ease you into sleep.

4. Makeup-removal made easy.

Let's face it, we don't always remember to wash our face before bed. My solutions: Keep makeup-remover wipes on your bedside table. Or, if you're out of wipes, use body lotion. It works especially well on tough mascara.

5. Replace nighttime moisturizer with a mask.

Use a hydrating facial mask in place of moisturizer, and leave it on. When you wake up, your skin will look and feel very soft.
