Nobody can take this away -- not the refs, not Kurt Warner's Jesus....nobody.

I never used the word "hypocrite" or "hate". I'm not going to get into who is an isn't a hypocrite, because eventually we would all be embarrassed (myself included). I haven't even stated my political or religious views. To me this is about a journalist who seems intolerant toward a public figure expressing his faith, and in so doing loses his objectivity. Will has the right to express his views in this column, as does Warner in the NFL. Each of them have a platform to espouse what they believe. I'm not going to sit here and tell Will what he should and shouldn't believe. But geeze, don't mock a guy 'cuz he gave a shout out to JC. Warners faith has obviously impacted every facet of his life and I applaud him for it. And finally, to me this isn't about "republican vs. democrat" or "conservative vs. liberal". How politics was brought into this discussion is beyond me.

"Isnt that great??!!!!" . . . It's certainly gratifying to think Philly has such an impact on your emotional state.

"...and in so doing loses his objectivity." . . . I respect what you're saying, but it seems you're mistaken in thinking this blog is intended to be objective journalism. It's an opinion blog. Otherwise, there'd be no point in having a comment thread attached to it.

Anyone, even a hypothetical Jesus, could have seen this coming. A typically underprepared Any Reid team loses to a team they should beat. I learned the lesson in 2003 and have saved myself much angst by not forgetting it.

Typical Eagles. aggravating inconsistancy on both sides of the ball. Where was McNabb's head in the first half? Why can't you can't shut out a receiver for two quarters and then shut himout in the 3rd quarter? That play involving Curtis near the end WAS pass interference but he still should have caught the ball. Same old same old with the Eagles. I doubt God cares more about one taem than another. This result (as far as I know) had nothing to do with Jesus. Keep religion out of sports..... and politics!

Hey, he gave God the Glory so I wouldn't knock Kurt Warner. He knows who steers his ship!

Ya know, superbowlcardinals, you're right. Philly fans are the worst. In fact, I'm so pathetic, if the Eagles had won you know what I was going to do? I was going to get on the internet and try to find people from Phoenix to taunt. God, I'm a LOSER!

"I doubt God cares more about one taem than another. This result (as far as I know) had nothing to do with Jesus." Did you ever think that maybe Warner drew on his faith to give him the wherewithal to accomplish his goals? Even if God doesn't care about who won the game, Warner's faith may have given him the strength to succeed.

Who knows Legatus? You don't think there are religious players on the Eagles as well? What do you think God does, listens to what everyone says and then decides who is going to win? This whole discussion is pointless. More likely than not, God set up the rules (or allowed others to so with His approval and then let's random chance sort it out. Perhaps Will shouldn't get involved in people's faith beliefs. It's a losing propostion. Myself, I'm really a non-believer. I believe this world is too random for there to be a God overseeing everything that happens. I refuse to use Him as a crutch. I wish He existed but I no evidence of that fact. Still waiting for enlightenment in other words.

Let's try this again James, and read what I write this time. I never said anything about God taking an active role in deciding the outcome, and it doesn't matter if there are religious people on other teams either. The fact is that Will made a derisive comment about Warner's faith, and you agreed that the "result had nothing to do with Jesus". My point is that regardless of whether there is a God or not, the fact that Warner says that his faith in Jesus sustains him is proof enough for me that "Jesus" (even if He were just a concept and didn't really exist) DID in fact affect the result of the game.

"I wish He existed but I no evidence of that fact." While no one can prove that He exists, there is a plethora of evidence pointing to the probability that He is real. In fact, I believe that I could prove to you that a preponderance of the cosmological evidence points to the fact that He does exist. If you'd like to take this discussion to a private forum (e-mail, or whatever) I'd be glad to discuss further.
