Ants have no blood:

In other words, Americans increasingly see the Internet as an important source of information, despite the fact that they view much of that information as unreliable. Depending on how you feel about Internet users in general, that’s either a baffling example of contradictory behavior, or a sign of healthy skepticism about online media.

Discuss.

Anytime I hear about how great the traditional media was, I think of the "Dewey Defeats Truman" debacle. As far as contradictory behavior, that's the norm in this country. From Reagan, who talked "conservative" while taking us from a creditor nation to the world's largest debtor nation in 8 short years, to current GOPPERS who bloviate on the evils of homosexuality and fornication while toe-tapping in bathrooms and slamming street walkers in hotels....On a positive front, our decent into Nazi Germany has thankfully been delayed by a human being who actually read the constitution. A good day indeed.

///while taking us from a creditor nation to the world's largest debtor nation in 8 short years// We were a debtor nation long before Reagan, Cicero. The United States, for example, was “he world’s biggest debtor for a hundred years, but the money was used to build railroads and canals and factories and to improve ports and to build our cities. It was used productively, and it worked. Even Reagan used it to build the military (which, final goal aside, is a huge boon to factory based heavy production manufacturing and resources like iron, coal, and steel). Problem is, now the debt goes to finance things that do not contribute at all to future productivity. That's not just a GOP thing, democrats have been just as bad at it too.

RG above seems to think that Obama has closed Gitmo and extended habeas corpus to enemy combatants. But the last time I looked, Gitmo was still open (although I think there are good reasons to close it) and it was the courts, not the administration, that recognized that habeas corpus applies to everyone as far as U.S. Courts go. But RG no doubt believes a lot that is simply not true. The problem is that liberals, for the most part, believe in reality, not in radio/television/Internet myths. Newspapers are not perfect by any means, but they are far closer to reporting "the truth and nothing but the truth" than much of the Internet or shows by that well-known liar Sean Hannity.
