If this is what we did to Iraq, imagine what we can do to Slovenia

POSTED: Thursday, June 17, 2010, 9:33 PM

If ever there was a time for the United States to deliver shock and awe, it will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. U-S-A!

On that note, I'm going to declare an end to the week that wasn't here at Attytood -- I felt like I was still on book leave even though I wasn't. Next week will hopefully see a return to more regular content flow here. I am wondering one thing -- do any Attytood commenters agree with the initial (and later retracted) comments from Joe Barton and other GOPers that BP's $20 billion is an extortionary slush fund? Or do we prefer to put more people in the Gulf out of work and wait until fisherman start killing themselves and what not, all in the principle of a less-intrusive government?

Have a great weekend, unless you are from Slovenia or Minnesota.

I love it when the President is successful. It makes the republicans even darker and more pathetic. Keep up the good work Obama!

Relax Jimmy Carter II is here............."But don’t take my word for it. Go to the Democrats’ own talking point network, MSNBC. Their own anchor Chris “thrill up my leg” Matthews said Obama is trying to push the exact same transition from oil that “broke Carter.” He and host Keith Olbermann complained that Obama didn’t seem to have command of the situation. “I don't sense executive command,” said Matthews......................................... They aren’t alone. Obama’s popularity is plummeting almost as fast as BP’s. A new poll finds Louisiana residents thoroughly disgusted with the White House, even more so than they were with Bush. The results show “a majority of voters there think George W. Bush did a better job with Katrina than Obama's done dealing with the spill.”........................... And it’s no wonder. Obama’s response to this crisis has been slow and incompetent. We are nearly two months into the worst ecological disaster the United States has ever faced and the government response still seems haphazard."

Rudy - If a person or company admits responsibility, it can begin making restitution anytime they want. BP knows they will eventually be held responsible. They've made a horrible mess. If your son broke the neighbors window, would you offer to fix the window or require the neighbor to wait for your son to be found guilty in court? BP ad the Federal government are doing the right thing for the small people here.
