Crazy survivalist rag calls on Americans to stockpile food

The Wall Street Journal urges Americans to stockpile food

It's amazing some of the scare stories you see out there. Check this one out:

I don't want to alarm anybody, but maybe it's time for Americans to start stockpiling food.
No, this is not a drill.
You've seen the TV footage of food riots in parts of the developing world. Yes, they're a long way away from the U.S. But most foodstuffs operate in a global market. When the cost of wheat soars in Asia, it will do the same here.

So says the End of the World Ti...er, I mean...the Wall Street Journal? Actually, the piece is a column called "R.O.I." -- and the author's point seems to be you'll make more of a Return on Investment in the long run by hoarding peanut butter than by buying stocks. Is this a great country or what?

Philly's Richard Blair has more on the food crisis.
