Is this a great country or what?
As for the poor maintenance man who was was trampled by shoppers at a Wal-Mart in Long Island, I hope they comb through the videotape, track down the shoppers and charge every blessed one of them with bloody murder. There've been a lot of stories in the last week or two about what Great Depression II will look like, but I think trampling people to get bargains at a discount stores is pretty much it.

Huh? What, do you think they all got together outside the door and said "Hey, let's trample this guy?" Obviously, people in front got pushed by people behind, people in back didn't know that was going on up front. Things got out of hand. It happens sometimes in crowds that are poorly managed. Maybe the stores need to look at their business practices to better control how people line up to get into these 5 AM sales. Usually, stores are more than happy to promote the hype. I don't quite see how you're going to charge any individual with anything unless you have some proof of irresponsible behavior by someone in particular. What, are you channeling your inner-batboy, Will?

Oops. Just read an actual description of the incident. Nevermind.

You do raise a good point, though. The stores are culpable in some way for this. Two fatal incidents in one day...maybe it's time to shut down Black Friday for good. I would say only have Black Friday online, but that would discriminate against shoppers with access to a computer.

Shopping at Wal-Mart should be made a crime by itself.

Hey, those minimum wage worker drones died for the glory of capitalism! Their families should be proud!

Wow, so the posters here show their true colors -- all nudge nudge, wink-winking because a majority of the shoppers shown in the photographs are African-American. I could care less about their race -- as I said in my post (which Hank apparently didn't even read), I think the people who trampled the victim, if they can be identified, should be criminally charged, even if they're purple. But because many shoppers were black, it "looks like an Obama rally," or as B.A. says, "A Walmart worker dies at the hands of Obamanation." Huh? Aside from the fact that Obama is also black, I don't see the similarities. Did you every see an Obama rally? Except for a couple that were held in an overwhelmingly black neighborhoods, most of the crowds were mostly white. So what are you really peddling here, except racist claptrap. Pretty disgusting.

It really is sad that our local Republican toadies actually think that race has something to do with this. No doubt, those three youths trampled to death at the AC/DC concert were African Americans also (didn't ya' know that AC/DC is real popular among blacks?). Yeah, it happened in Salt Lake City, where all those Obama voters hang out. In fact, From 1992 through 2002, there were 232 deaths from crowd-safety failures at concerts and festivals around the world, and more than 66,000 people were injured - and African Americans were responsible for each and everyone one of those incidents. Didn't ya' know?
