Basketball: Imhotep's Liggeons bound for Wagner

Citing the team's offensive style and a strong rapport with the coaching staff, Imhotep Charter senior wing guard Devin Liggeons committed Thursday to play basketball at Wagner.

"I love the way they play, the coaching staff is great," the 18-year from Mount Airy said. "The whole environment is good."

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder also had scholarship offers from Niagara, Sacred Heart, and St. Francis (Pa.). Central Connecticut and LIU Brooklyn likewise expressed interest.

Wagner went 19-12 overall and 12-4 in the Northeast Conference last season. "I didn't want to go too far from home," Liggeons said. "This is far enough."

Liggeons, who plays AAU ball for Team Philly, added that his brother, Chad, lives nearby in North Jersey.
