O'Neil, Pettine to hold football camp at C.B. West

The fourth annual Jim O'Neil Football Camp, hosted by former Central Bucks West standout and current Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at War Memorial Field in Doylestown.

O'Neil will be joined by fellow C.B. West graduates and Browns coaches Mike Pettine Jr. and Chuck Driesbach. Pettine is in his first year as the Browns head coach; Driesbach is the team's linebackers coach.

Sunday's free camp, which is for students in grades five through eight, is designed to teach Bucks County youngsters the fundamentals of the game, including agility, blocking, passing, running, and receiving.

Mike Mayock, a Haverford School graduate and NFL draft guru, will serve as the camp's guest speaker.

Pettine joined the Browns after spending last season as the defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills. Before that, he was the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets for four seasons.

Pettine, who was a quarterback at C.B. West and defensive back at Virginia, was the head coach at North Penn (1997-2001) and William Tennent (1995-96.).

In 2002, Pettine, the son of former longtime C.B. West boss Mike Pettine. left North Penn to become a technology assistant for the Baltimore Ravens.
