Gunfire follows Dobbins-Gratz football game

Two teenagers, both believed to be Simon Gratz football players, were shot in the Hunting Park section at about 9 p.m. Friday.

The incident followed a 6 p.m. Public League Class AAA contest between host Gratz and Dobbins Vo-Tech, won by Gratz, 32-0. It occurred several blocks away from Gratz's Super Site.

According to 6ABC.com, a 16-year-old male was hit multiple times in the buttocks, thigh and calf, and a 17-year-old was hit in the leg.

Both were taken to Temple University Hospital and listed late Friday night in stable condition.

The cause of the incident was being investigated. Gratz football coach and athletic director Erik Zipay could not be immediately reached for comment.
