Baseball: East's Sigovich commits to Mountaineers

Downingtown East's Eric Sigovich, a senior righthander, has committed to play his college baseball at Appalachian State.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder, whose fastball has been clocked at 90 m.p.h., chose the Mountaineers over Old Dominion, St. Joseph's, Stony Brook, Temple, Virginia Commonwealth, and Winthrop.

Sigovich, also a first baseman, plays for All-Star Baseball Academy's showcase squad.

He was a member of the team that represented Chester County in the Carpenter Cup Classic.
