Game 16: searching for offense

After being swept in Cincinnati, the Phillies begin an eight-game homestand with tonight's game against the St. Louis Cardinals desperately looking to ignite a punchless offense.

During the recently completed 2-4 road trip, the Phillies scored a total of 10 runs. They did not score a run before the sixth inning in any game on the trip.

Cole Hamels, who was better his last outing against an anemic Miami offense, will face a Cardinals team looking to regroup after Wednesday's 5-0 loss to A.J. Burnett in Pittsburgh.

In order to jump start the offense, Jimmy Rollins is the lead-off batter and Ben Revere will hit seventh. In addition Freddy Galvis gets the start in left field for Domonic Brown, who injured his back during Wednesday's 11-2 loss at Cincinnati.

Here is the Phillies lineup.

1. Jimmy Rollins, SS

2. Freddy Galvis, LF

3. Chase Utley, 2B

4. RyanHoward, 1B

5. Michael Young, 3B

6. John Mayberry Jr., RF
