An 18-year-old man was killed, and three other people — including two juveniles — were seriously wounded Saturday evening in a quadruple shooting on a West Philadelphia porch at a house where a celebration may have been in progress, officials said.

Police responded to multiple calls of gunfire erupting in the chilly rain near the intersection of 51st and Warrington Streets shortly after 6 p.m., said Inspector D.F. Pace.

The 18-year-old was shot in the face and was pronounced dead 25 minutes later at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, according to police.

A 17-year-old, who suffered four wounds, was taken to Penn Presbyterian and later transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was reported in critical condition.

The two others wounded, a 16-year-old and a 23-year-old, were in stable condition Saturday night at Penn Presbyterian.

Police said at least 27 shell casings were found at the scene, most of them on the west side of 51st Street, but several on the other side.

Based on preliminary reports, investigators speculated that the victims were participating in some type of celebration, possibly a graduation party.

No weapons had been recovered nor arrests made, police said.
