College Basketball: Bulls stun Hoyas; Kansas wins in OT

South Florida shot 65 percent after halftime to win its fourth straight conference game, including a 70-61 win over then-No. 17 Pittsburgh on Sunday that gave the Bulls three straight for the first time since joining the Big East in 2005.

The Bulls (15-7, 5-5), who also have five Big East wins in a season for the first time, trailed by 13 points late in the first half and by 35-26 at halftime due to 60 percent shooting by Georgetown (16-5, 6-4).

But the Hoyas went cold in the second half, and Jones began to show the flair that has him averaging 35 points during the winning streak.

Kansas 72, Colorado 66 - Prep Charter graduate Marcus Morris scored six of his 15 points in overtime and grabbed a key rebound that helped the top-ranked Jayhawks (21-1, 7-0 Big Twelve) avoid what would have been the season's biggest upset with a victory over the Buffaloes (11-11, 2-6) in Boulder, Colo.

Cole Aldrich recorded his fourth straight double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds, and he blocked five shots to help the Jayhawks beat the Buffaloes for the 14th straight time.

The Buffs have never beaten a top-ranked team in 13 tries.

Marcus Relphorde's two free throws with 56 seconds left in regulation gave the Buffaloes their first - and only - lead at 60-59, but Sherron Collins made 1 of 2 free throws to tie it with 38 seconds left.

West Virginia 70, Pittsburgh 51 - Da'Sean Butler scored 18 points as the No. 6 Mountaineers (18-3, 7-2 Big East) never trailed in beating the No. 22 Panthers (16-6, 6-4) in Morgantown, W. Va.

Pittsburgh made just six field goals after halftime.

Ohio State 75, Penn State 62 - Evan Turner scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half, and Jon Diebler hit a critical three-pointer to lead the No. 13 Buckeyes (17-6, 7-3 Big Ten) over the Nittany Lions (8-14, 0-10) in Columbus, Ohio.

Talor Battle had 24 points for Penn State.

Elsewhere: Sharif Bray scored 26 points as Cheyney ended Kutztown's 25-game home-court winning streak, 94-62. . . . James Jones and Darryl White scored 17 points apiece as Delaware Valley beat FDU-Florham, 78-61, in Doylestown.

Gary Foster scored 14 points as Rowan took a 70-49 victory over the College of New Jersey, which got 12 points from Jay Frank, in Glassboro. . . . Remy Cousart scored 19 points, but Ursinus fell to Franklin and Marshall, 70-62, in Collegeville.Bobby Edmunds drilled a jumper at the buzzer as Widener beat Albright, 49-48, in Reading. . . . Joshua Askew scored 19 points, but Rutgers-Camden fell, 54-36, to visiting Kean.

Kwadzo Ahelegbe scored 18 points - 15 in the second half - as No. 24 Northern Iowa hung on to beat Wichita State, 59-56 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. on Wednesday night. . . . Jermaine Beal scored 17 points as No. 18 Vanderbilt held off Mississippi State, 75-72, in Nashville. . . . LaceDarius Dunn scored 21 points as No. 20 Baylor beat Iowa State, 84-63, in Waco Texas.

Women

Xavier 72, George Washington 56 -

Amber Harris scored 18 points, and Ta'Shia Phillips added 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the No. 7 Musketeers (17-3, 7-0 Atlantic Ten) over the Colonials (5-16, 2-6) in Washington.

Tyeasha Moss scored 14 points, including four three-pointers, and Katie Rutan, a graduate of Springside High, had 10 for Xavier.

Elsewhere: Janelle Garber scored 22 points to lead West Chester to a 63-61 victory over visiting Shippensburg. . . . Brittney Zimmerman scored all 18 of her points in the first half to lead Delaware Valley past FDU-Florham, 81-54, in Doylestown.

Lindsay Teuber scored 16 points to lead Ursinus to a 55-32 win over Bryn Mawr, which got nine points from Shanika Bridges-King, in Haverford. Lutfiyya Muhammad scored 15 points, but Cheyney fell to visiting Kutztown, 63-61. . . . Lil Carney and Casey Pritz each scored 18 points as Widener beat Albright, 70-61, in Reading.
