The Mummy (6 p.m., Syfy) - Sometimes adding a bunch of special effects to a classic monster-movie franchise messes things up. Not so with this 1999 take on the mummy legend, which uses them effectively to ratchet up the fear factor. The cast, led by Brendan Fraser, is certainly adequate, but the titular monster - an evil high priest with a curse, a grudge, and a vicious undead army at his disposal - steals the show. Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, and Oded Fehr costar.

Law & Order (8 p.m., NBC10) - Detectives Lupo and Bernard (Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson) find that DNA evidence seems to link the murder of a CSU investigator and an attack on young journalist Emma Kim (guest star Camille Chen). Ethical questions arise, however, when Lupo gets close to Emma, and he and Bernard become personally involved in the case.

Medium (9 p.m., CBS3) - When Allison (Patricia Arquette) says Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva) isn't herself today, she isn't just using a figure of speech. In fact, Allison is getting a little worried that her daughter's erratic behavior may mean the girl is possessed with the spirit of a murdered stripper seeking revenge.

The Jay Leno Show (10 p.m., NBC10) - Actress Jenna Fischer; comedian Dan Adhoot.

Late Show With David Letterman (11:35 p.m., CBS3) - Actor Larry David; actress Olivia Wilde; Tom Russell performs.
