A 91-year-old North Philadelphia woman has died of heat exposure, city officials said Tuesday. The woman, whom the city would not identify by name, was found dead Monday evening in her two-story rowhouse. The building's windows were closed and there was no air-conditioning, said Jeff Moran, spokesman for the Department of Public Health.

Monday was the fifth straight day that temperatures reached at least 90 degrees. The woman appeared to have died the day before, according to the Medical Examiner's Office. Hers was the 11th heat-related death in the city this year, Moran said. The previous one was reported Saturday, during the same heat wave. - Tom Avril
