State Rep. Bryan Lentz, a Democrat from Delaware County, announced Friday that he had hired strategist and media guru Neil Oxman as he ramps up a 2010 campaign for the Seventh District U.S. House seat.

Oxman, founder of the Campaign Group in Philadelphia, was chief media adviser to Gov. Rendell and Mayor Nutter. Oxman also handled advertising for the district's two-term incumbent, Rep. Joe Sestak (D., Pa.), who is leaving to challenge Sen. Arlen Specter (D., Pa.) in the Senate primary.

Andrew Kennedy, a direct-mail specialist who has worked in 27 states and was involved in Sestak's campaigns, also has joined Lentz's staff. His pollster will be Jeff Pollock, president of the Global Strategy Group.

Tomorrow, Republican Pat Meehan, a former U.S. attorney, is expected to announce his candidacy for the seat. - Thomas Fitzgerald
