Bike-riding robber hits third Camden County bank

The FBI is trying to track down a Camden County bank robber who has a novel way of escaping - on a bike.

In the latest of three robberies since October, the man struck a TD Bank in Hi-Nella a little after 8:30 a.m. yesterday, FBI spokesman J.J. Klaver said. The robber wore a black knit cap, sunglasses, and an Old Navy sweatshirt. He was described as white, in his 30s, between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall, and 180 to 200 pounds.

The thief has also hit banks in Glendora and Blackwood, in each case asking a teller to hand over cash, stuffing the money in a plastic bag, then pedaling away, Klaver said.

Klaver said he knew of bank robbers who had gotten away on a bus or by cab, but never on a bicycle.
