Brady re-elected as 'mayor of Capitol Hill'

U.S. Rep. Robert A. Brady (D., Pa.) has been re-elected as chair of the Committee of House Administration. Brady was nominated by Speaker Nancy Pelosi at a Democratic Caucus meeting Thursday and was unanimously approved.

The chair is often referred to as "the mayor of Capitol Hill." Brady has held the position since May 2007.

The Committee on House Administration is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the House of Representatives and all its offices and facilities. The committee also has oversight of the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution and the Government Printing Office.
