Franklin Institute official will depart for Florida

A senior vice president at the Franklin Institute will leaving in mid-January to teach literature to undergraduates at the University of Tampa.

Carol Parssinen, head of the Center for Innovation in Science Learning, developed Discovery Camp, a summer and spring-break science camp, during her tenure as the institute's vice president for educational programs.

She was also responsible for programs such as the National Science Partnership for Girl Scouts and Science Museums, Partnerships in Achieving Careers in Technology and Science, and the Science Leadership Academy Ambassador program, in which business and educational leaders mentor students in internships.
