Police Commissioner Sylvester M. Johnson has declared tomorrow "Cops for the Cure" day to promote a month-long fund-raiser for breast-cancer research and education.

This is the first time Philadelphia police have teamed with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a not-for-profit organization focusing on breast cancer.

Through the end of October, police commanders will solicit money from their communities and officers will offer pink ribbon pins to the public for a minimum donation of $5. - Barbara Boyer
