Police seek help in identifying laptop thief

Philadelphia police yesterday asked for the public's help in identifying a burglar who has hit at least five Center City businesses - making off with more than a dozen laptop computers - since March 20.

Philadelphia police yesterday asked for the public's help in identifying a burglar who has hit at least five Center City businesses - making off with more than a dozen laptop computers - since March 20.

The man, whose face was recorded by a surveillance camera, has targeted businesses along or near Market Street between 22d and 30th Streets, police said. His last job was on April 1.

The burglar, who uses a "Slim-Jim" type device to open locks on glass doors, struck Milligan Public Accountants twice and hauled away seven laptops, police said.
